1. San (Bushmen)

The San or Bushmen are in Botswana, Zambia, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe and are about 90, 000 in population. They are about 100,000 to 140,000 years old. They speak all the Khoe, Tuu and Kx’a language families.

They are said to be the  world’s most ancient race and are said to be the very direct descendants  of the original groups of humans.

About some 100,000 years ago research shows they came in and out of the gene pool after being isolated from the other older tribes. This phenomenon accounts for their varied DNA.

Their ritual performing past dating back to some 70,000 years ago cements them as the first tribe of Africa, making the continent “the cradle of modern man.”
