Angel Reese took a playful jab at her WNBA salary, joking about the pay gap compared to other top athletes.

The 22-year-old competed in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, where her team, Rose BC, won the championship with a 62-54 victory over Aliyah Boston’s Vinyl team, earning a $50,000 bonus.

After winning the $50,000 bonus, Reese took to X, writing, “50K NEED DATTTTT.”

WNBA player Sydney Colston jokingly asked to borrow some cash, prompting Reese to take a jab at her rookie WNBA salary, as reported by TMZ.

“I’m sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract,” Reese said, “and that 50k was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself.”

“Sorry 🙁 give me a few years and I gotchu. Be Well.”

This comes just a week after Reese warned on her Unapologetically Angel podcast that a WNBA lockout could happen if players don’t receive higher salaries.

“If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,” Reese said.

Reese, entering her second season with the Chicago Sky, is on a four-year rookie contract worth approximately $324,000; she will earn around $75,000 in 2025.
