Autistic and proud black achievers who keep going strong

Autistic persons live with the illness for the duration of their life, however, they are not bound by their disability. Autism, also referred to as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), is a condition that affects social interaction, communication and certain behaviors. 

Those diagnosed with ASD may have trouble expressing themselves in full and coherent speech, experience mood disorders, engage in repetitive behaviors and have problems sleeping.

Blacks with autism tend to be misdiagnosed or diagnosed later in their life, which is detrimental to proper treatment and quality education on how to navigate life with ASD.

Despite having a disorder that significantly impacts them, there are individuals who do not let their condition define the quality of their lives.
