Over the weekend, Africa was heavily represented on the runway in Milan as our very own Starboy, Wizkid strutted his stuff at the Dolce and Gabbana SS19 Menswear show.
The “Soco” hitmaker became the first African artiste to grace the runway for the international fashion brand.
The star-studded event also saw British-Jamaican international supermodel Naomi Campbell and British-Nigerian musician Tinie Tempah walk the runway.
Wizkid, seen in behind-the-scenes footages, was personally styled by Stefano Gabbana, one of the founders of the brand.
He was spotted on the runway in a jewellery-adorned black and gold ensemble, complete with a diamond-encrusted facemask, which he took off as he walked the runway.
The face mask can be said to be fast becoming his trademark as he wore one at his sold-out AfroRepublik festival at London’s O2 Arena and on his surprise appearance at fellow Nigerian music star Davido’s 30Billion UK Tour.
Campbell hit the runway in embellished stilettos and a pin-striped black suit and a bow tie with a navy and white fedora. The look also featured several pieces of jewellery, commonly seen in all the looks that graced the runway. This is not the first time the two have been linked together as Campbell introduced Wizkid during his O2 Arena concert.
