A 41-year-old babysitter who wrote ‘everybody who played me is cursed’ in blood on the wall after killing a toddler has been arrested in Las Vegas.
On Wednesday, Marketta Phillips was taken in by police for the death of three-year-old Journei Ross, who was killed from many stab wounds.
Journei’s father, Jeremy Ross returned from work before dawn around 3:30 am to find his ‘on-again-off-again girlfriend’ and roommate sitting on the kitchen floor with knives surrounding her while being covered in blood, as per 8 News Now.

He quickly took to his bedroom, where he found his daughter unconscious and then began chest compressions.
Turning his head around the room as he performed the chest compressions, the father of the toddler saw an inscription from Phillips written on the wall, allegedly reading: ‘Everybody who played me is cursed.’
The arrested babysitter told cops she had ‘snapped’ and stabbed Journei ‘more than once’ to ‘get back at’ Ross.
Right after he saw his child losing her life, Ross called 911, saying: ‘My baby isn’t breathing anymore. A crazy girl cut my baby up.’
According to Journei’s mother, Phalan Whitson, the three-year-old, murdered by the babysitter, suffered at least ten stab wounds on the torso, legs, and neck.
‘My child is f**king three years old The f**k is you doing?’ the father asked Phillips while on the 911 call. ‘My baby is not breathing. My baby just bled all over the f**king bed.’

Phillips rushed out of the house as Ross began telling the babysitter to come back.
‘You get back here,’ he called. ‘What the f**k? What you do? No!’ The alleged murderer left the apartment on foot while police were en route to the residence.
Around 5 am, cops located her in a parking lot near the complex, where she was found with blood on her hands, as per 8 News Now.
The outlet reported that the babysitter was uncooperative while being arrested and had to be tasered.
Inside the apartment, police discovered several bloody knives and scissors, along with sheets of paper containing handwritten notes.
Some of the notes read: “See what happens when you [redacted] with people’s lives” and “Now we both have nothing,” according to the local outlet.
Phillips is being held without bail and made her first court appearance on Thursday.

Ross and Phillips had lived together for about a year, and Ross’ father said he was unaware of any issues she may have had.
“I didn’t know she was a crazy case,” he told 8 News Now.
Ross shared custody of his daughter with Whitson, and the girl had been in Ross’ care since Monday when he picked her up.
“She took my baby,” Whitson told 8 News Now. “I didn’t know this woman. Today [Thursday] was literally the first day I saw her.”
Whitson recalled her daughter’s love of singing and how she could “light up a room wherever she was.” “I deserve justice,” the grieving mother said. “She didn’t deserve any of this,” Ross added.
