The legendary singer has a transgender son, Izaak Theo Adu. Born Mickailia ‘Ila’ Adu, Izaak, who came out in 2016, underwent phalloplasty surgery to complete his transformation.
Taking to his Instagram page to confirm his transition in September 2019, he thanked the Smooth Operator singer for being supportive during his recovery from the surgery.
“It’s been a long hard road but We did it!! We are coming home!!!!,” he shared.
“Thank you for staying by my side these past 6 months Mumma. Thank you for fighting with me to complete the man I am. Thank you for your encouragement when things are hard, for the love you give me. The purest heart. I love you so much. Queen of queens.”
