Cardi B and Offset may be going through a divorce, but that did not stop them from reuniting to celebrate the third birthday of their son, Wave Set Cephus. Per PEOPLE, the airplane-themed event was held on Sunday, and the former couple took to their respective Instagram accounts to share footage of the party.
“Issa Party. Big Wave? ,” Cardi B, who is expecting her third child with Offset, initially captioned alongside a video of a barechested Wave. The Invasion of Privacy rapper later posted a video of Wave and Offset dancing. The former Migos member and his son also graced the occasion in matching outfits as they donned Timberland boots and jeans.
One of the highlights of the event was the huge airlines-themed cake that was named “Wave Airlines.” The cake was designed with features including airplanes, suitcases, passports, a ticket, and a propeller.

Cardi B and Offset reuniting to celebrate Wave’s birthday comes after she filed for divorce from her estranged husband. Besides deciding to part ways, she is also seeking primary custody of their two children.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Cardi B, 31, and Offset, 32, became romantically involved in 2017 before they got engaged and married secretly that same year. The couple, who have had a tumultuous relationship, share a daughter, Kulture, 6, and Wave. The Associated Press also reported that Cardi B’s third pregnancy is also with Offset.
Sources additionally told the news outlet that Cardi B’s divorce filing is “not based on any one particular incident” as it has “been a long time coming and is amicable.” Sources also told TMZ that the pair have been “disconnected from each other” for a very long while.
And Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, dropped hints about their relationship taking a nosedive in December. “You know when you just out grow relationships … I’m tired of protecting peoples feelings … I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST!” she said in one of her social media posts.
The sources also said that though Cardi B and Offset tried to patch things up, their disconnection aggravated. This is the second time the Bongos rapper has filed for divorce from the former Migos member.
She filed her first divorce in September 2020 over allegations of Offset cheating on her. The couple, however, later patched things up and called off their divorce.
