5. Christmas Decorations

If it is the season to be jolly and happy, then nothing says I am jolly and happy than the decorations at Christmas time. As soon as December comes around, Nigerians dive in to the closet for their Christmas decorations, take them out, dust them off, and hang them up. Nothing says, “I am ready for Christmas,” or, “Season greetings,” more than the decorations at Christmas.

In true Christmas spirit, businesses, banks, and corporate bodies have adopted the tradition, and many of them attempt to outdo themselves by putting up elaborate decorations around their office premises. Governments, too, have not been left out, and many now commission decorations around major city streets and parks.
