Danielle Brooks Set To Host 2024 “Black Girls Rock!” Awards

Danielle Brooks, an Academy Award-nominated actress, will host the 2024 Black Girls Rock!® Awards when the televised special returns.

The Black Girls Rock! Awards founder and CEO, Beverly Bond, announced the return of her yearly award event to television thanks to a brand-new, exciting broadcast relationship with Lifetime A&E Networks. 

As the Black Girls Rock!® Awards make their highly anticipated television comeback on Lifetime, Beverly Bond, the award’s CEO and founder, remarked:

“We are thrilled to reignite this empowering platform on a new network in the vibrant city of Atlanta, our new cultural epicenter for celebration.”

The Academy Award-nominated actress will host the event, which is intended to honor a star-studded line-up of well-known figures and formidable black women driving good change as trailblazers, pioneers, business moguls, thought leaders, and up-and-coming talent.

This will be Black Girls Rock!‘s first appearance on Lifetime, a network that is well-known for emphasizing women and women in leading roles.

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross, founder and co-CEO of Pattern Beauty and a former host, is one of the celebs receiving recognition. She will be receiving the Star Power Award.

Gina Prince-Bythewood, the critically acclaimed director of The Woman King and Love & Basketball, will be honored with a Shot Caller Award. 

Steph Mills, a Broadway star and watch vocalist, will receive her flowers with the Living Legend Award, while Danielle’s co-star on The Color Purple Fantasia Barrino will get the Black Girl Magic Award.

Other honourees are Mama Glow creator, maternity health advocate, doula, and wellness practitioner Latham Thomas, who will win the Community Change Agent Award, and artist, animator, and sustainability campaigner Maya Penn, who is scheduled to receive the Young, Gifted, and Black Award.
