Fans of horse racing were treated to a rare spectacle at the popular Greyville Racecourse in Durban, South Africa, Saturday as top celebrities strutted their stylish fashion for the 120th anniversary of Durban July Handicap, one of Africa’s biggest horse racing events.

Durban July Handicap is a South African thoroughbred horse race event held annually on the first Saturday of July since 1897 at Greyville Racecourse.

The race is usually open to horses of all ages and has over the years become a major local and international tourism attraction.

The annual event has also become a fashion pageant that attracts Africa’s most fashion-conscious crowds who participate in the trackside glamour and party atmosphere that often threatens to outdo the horse action.

Here Face2Face Africa takes a look at some of the glamorous styles from South Africa’s top personalities from the event.
