Eric Moulds, a former Buffalo Bills wide receiver, is accused of purposefully spreading an incurable sexually transmitted disease to a woman and several people.

According to the Miami Herald, the anonymous lady bringing the lawsuit claims that Moulds, 51, remained silent about having herpes during their months-long sexual connection in 2023.

The woman from Erie County, New York claims in the complaint filed on December 10 in New York State Superior Court that they started a sexual relationship during a trip after exchanging messages on Instagram in January 2023. Moulds offered her “an all-expenses paid trip” and flew her out to see him in Charlotte, North Carolina, the lawsuit says.

Until November 2023, when they had their final intimate encounter and unprotected sex, the woman reportedly continued to visit Moulds, who covered her airfare.

The complaint claims that Moulds never disclosed to her that he had herpes, rather, it was his pregnant fiancée who contacted the woman in December 2023 and asked her to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases “because she, along with other women whom (Moulds) had relationships with, had been transmitted diseases by him.”

The woman, who was unaware that Moulds had been in a relationship with his fiancée for eight years, tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2 that month, according to the lawsuit.

The World Health Organization states that the herpes simplex virus 2 can cause recurrent “painful blisters or ulcers” in the vaginal area. Even though the condition is incurable, its symptoms are treatable.

The woman who is suing him claims she had never been involved with anyone else during her relationship with Moulds. She is suing Moulds, who lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina, for negligence and purposely infecting her with an STD

The complaint claims that after receiving a herpes diagnosis, the woman discovered that Moulds “also engaged with multiple women besides (her) via social media.”

He is accused of specifically targeting “single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York,” giving them herpes and paying them to drop lawsuits they filed against him.

According to the complaint, Moulds “offered money in an attempt to buy her [the woman suing him now] silence in the wake of another potential lawsuit.” In her claim, the woman seeks unspecified damages.

According to his lawyer, Frank LoTempio III, Moulds is aware of the complaint even though he hasn’t been served with it as of December 12.

LoTempio III told HuffPost, “We may accept service on his behalf. We are in the process of gathering information and responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend. I will have more information and comments once the litigation process starts.”

According to the Buffalo News, Moulds, who played for the Buffalo Bills from 1996 to 2005, operates a football training facility in Charlotte and has three Pro Bowl appearances.
