Drake ends a challenging year on a high note with a look-alike contest in Toronto that not only lifted his spirits but also rewarded a fan with $10,000.
The “Drake-alike Challenge” on Saturday saw a massive turnout, featuring fans portraying various versions of the rapper, from “Ozempic Drake” to “girl Drake.”
Anthony Po, dressed as Drake’s son Adonis, played a key role in the “Drake-alike Challenge” in Toronto, as reported by TMZ.
Anthony sparked this trend with a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in NYC earlier this year, which only offered a $50 prize.
Times have certainly changed, with Drake reportedly awarding $10,000 to Makayla Chambers, the “girl Drizzy,” at Saturday’s “Drake-alike Challenge.”
While Makayla walked away with the cash, the real winner might be Drake’s ego, which needed a boost after losing his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, when by K. Dot dropped “Not Like Us.”
Months after his high-profile defeat to Kendrick Lamar, Drake filed a lawsuit against his own record label, Universal Music Group, accusing them of a “pay for play” scheme to promote Kendrick Lamar’s hit.
Despite this legal battle and the negative publicity, Drake defied expectations and emerged as the most streamed rapper on Spotify this year.
Despite setbacks, Drake’s look-alike contest drew a large crowd, suggesting that a comeback might be on the horizon for the rapper.
