South African tech firm using 12,000 data scientists
Supported by the Artificial Intelligence For Development (AI4D), an international collaborative agency, South African tech firm Zindi employed 12,000 data scientists across the continent to help map out models for how the coronavirus travels in Africa and beyond.
Zindi opened the process as a competition to gauge the best models from the scientists. The results of the competition is yet to be revealed but the effort is the single biggest private-sector model-mapping on the coronavirus in the world.
