Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper is present in many of our spicy meals and it is part of the chili pepper family or the Capsium family. According to a study in 2015, cayenne pepper enhances digestive health by “fighting gastrointestinal pathogens, ulcerations and cancer and It also regulates appetite and digestive function.”
It also contains a very impressive amount of capsaicin which is known to supress “a neuropeptide involved in inflammatory processes called substance P.”
This spice contains vitamin A and has a very potent immune-boosting nutritional composition including the powerful antioxidant beta carotene. Next time you are making your favourite salsa, or chicken marinade add a generous amount of cayenne pepper to your recipe.
