It is hard to keep fighting for the goals you claim to represent after you have lost an election to have the power to affect things. Stacey Abrams is, however, an outlier.

Abrams contested and lost the governor’s seat in Alabama under quite controversial circumstances. One of these was the restrictions on the right to vote for African Americans.

But instead of slumping her shoulders and going away, Abrams is working across the U.S. pushing to make sure states do not infringe on electoral access to racial minorities.
