Rwanda

A portrait of Her Majesty the Queen made with woven banana leaves was presented to Queen Elizabeth II by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda during an audience at Buckingham Palace on December 6, 2006.

It was created by weaving together several shades of dyed banana leaves. The portrait is based on the Queen’s official Golden Jubilee photograph.
