Pennie Crockett is the founder and CEO of Pennie’s Tea, a functional, therapeutic and transformative brand globally celebrated for its intersection of wellness and social change.

The tea brand has been tailor-made for the health-conscious consumer. According to Black Business, its new line “What Tea is For Me” merges the best of science, sommelier expertise and soulfulness to offer flavors that go beyond refreshment.

A portion of every sale is used to support women in domestic violence through Crockett’s Crisis Center for Women in Domestic Violence. “Every sip is a step toward healing and empowerment. We’re not just in the tea business; we’re in the business of transforming lives,” she said, according to Black Business.

With a master’s degree in health, Crockett is an accomplished entrepreneur, educator, and tea sommelier and Consumer Package Goods Coach. The Chicago native is shattering barriers in the male-dominated beverage industry. Her innovative beverage brand has earned her product a sacred spot where less than 3% are occupied by Black female entrepreneurs, according to Black Business.

The platform said Crockett’s tea brand has taken over shelves in more than 700 retail stores including giants like The Fresh Market, Gelson’s, Giant Foods, Bristol Farms, and Mariano’s.

“We craft each blend with purpose and passion, combining exquisite flavors with unparalleled quality,” declared the former Professor of Health Science.

Pennie’s Tea has flavors like Ginger Peach Blast, Tropical Bliss, and Strawberry Kisses. In 2021, she announced that her products can now be found in 22 states including “Alaska, Anchorage, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.”
