Leconi Canyons

Located 10 kilometers from Leconi Town, the Leconi Canyons are the prettiest and most visited tourist attraction site in Gabon. They are located in the country’s most remote region and can only be accessed with a four-wheel drive vehicle. The site features twin canyons; the larger one male and the smaller one female. At sunset, the rocks glow red and gold, creating a magnificent scenery for visitors. According to locals, mysterious things happen in the canyons. They believe that shadowy spirits live inside the canyons and those who enter never return. The canyons are surrounded by a massive plateau covered in savanna grass and are adjacent to Leconi National Park.
