A Georgia man killed his wife before he later took his own life after he initially threatened to harm the victim during a heated dispute between the two on Facebook Live, The North Carolina Beat reported.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the June 14 incident occurred in Twin City, Emanuel County. Authorities responded to the address after they received a domestic disturbance report.

The responding officers found the victim, identified as Zaria Khadejah Carr, 27, unconscious, and she was pronounced dead later. Authorities said the responding officers were unable to locate Zaria’s husband, identified as 36-year-old Shamarcus Jameal Carr, and the victim’s 2021 Dodge Challenger.

“An alert was put out for Zaria’s car,” the statement said. “Just after 11:00 p.m., law enforcement was alerted that the car was in the Wayne County, GA area.”

Authorities said the car was spotted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and they initially attempted to execute a traffic stop. Authorities also said Shamarcus was inside the vehicle at the time, and he opened fire on himself. The 36-year-old succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.

The alleged murder-suicide happened after Shamarcus and Zaria were seen having a heated dispute on Facebook Live, The North Carolina Beat reported. In the videos, Shamarcus was heard threatening to kill his wife as they revealed personal secrets such as cheating, STDs, domestic violence, love spells, and prison marriages.

In one of the videos, Shamarcus is heard telling his wife that if he gets off “this live, you ain’t gonna make it out the door.” Shamarcus in the last video is also heard saying, “I swear you’ll die,” as they continue their back-and-forth.

Authorities said the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Shamarcus’ death, and Zaria will undergo an autopsy.
