New York, NY – The Musicians Union of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and Fantasy Entertainment have teamed up with Showbiz Africa, Goodfellas, and Posh Africa to present the inaugural installment of the Ghana Music Week Festival World Concert Series to be held at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

The launch of the World Concert Series will be the closing event of the Ghana Music Week Festival schedule of events, which will open with a welcome ceremony at the Ghana Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Friday October 16th followed by a recognition and introduction ceremony at the Mount Vernon City Hall fore court in Mount Vernon, N.Y.

This event will honor and recognize individuals who have contributed heavily to the promotion of Ghanaian art and culture both here in the United States and in Ghana. The objective of the Ghana Music Week Festival launching internationally is to foster and cultivate international relationships that will lead to a large worldwide presence at the Ghana Music Week 2016 events in Ghana.

Scheduled to grace the B.B. King’s stage for this unprecedented concert event are some of the hottest Ghanaian artists, including Becca, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Guru, A.B. Crentsil, Gasmila, Edem, and many more.

Dignitaries and special guests expected to attend some of these events include the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Lordina Mahama; the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; the Ghanaian Ambassador to the U.S. Lieutenant General, Joseph Smith; Rabbi Kohain Halevi; Mayor Ernest D. Davis of Mt. Vernon; Musiga artists; and many special guests of honor.
