Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) and the Justice Revived Foundation (JRF) are seeking justice for a 13-year-old girl who was gang-defiled by over 20 men.

Per the Ghana News Agency, the teen girl is a resident of Madina, which is located in the West African nation’s capital city of Accra. The 13-year-old student was subjected to the sexual assault from February 2025, and her abusers included teenagers.

The teen victim is now pregnant, and the assault has emotionally affected her. A 45-year-old mason identified as Clement Kwame was identified as the principal suspect. The girl said that Kwame stays near her home, and he sexually assaulted her after making false assurances to her. He also allowed his supposed friends and many other accomplices to sexually assault the victim.

The girl was also unable to get help because she was threatened and could not report the suspects as a result. The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Madina is currently pursuing the case. And though some suspects have been arrested in connection with the assault, HRRG and JRF said that Kwame and other prime suspects are yet to be apprehended.

Besides demanding Kwame and the other perpetrators’ swift arrest, HRRG and JRF also want them to be held accountable for their actions. They also want the victim to be given medical and psychological care, as well as social support for her pregnancy and traumatic experience, the Ghana News Agency reported.

“We will not rest until justice is served,” HRRG and JRF representatives said. “Every child has the right to safety, and perpetrators must be held accountable.”

HRRG and JRF are also calling on the relevant authorities to take action and create a conducive environment that would enable children to safely grow up.
