The Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist achieved international fame and acclaim, serving as a world ambassador for reggae music and selling a million records throughout his career. He started out in 1963 with the group The Wailers, creating a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that resonated with many people globally. The reggae star would go solo after The Wailers disbanded in 1974, and in three years, he released the album Exodus, which was well received by his fans, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records.
The committed Rastafari died in May 1981 at the age of 36. Though he died at a young age he still lives in the hearts of his faithful fans. The singer has since been raking in money even in death – $23 million in the past year, and this is largely due to his products that include headphones and Marley Natural cannabis and smoking accessories.
