Grammy-nominated singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend DDG after she accused him of being “physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive” towards her.

Bailey, 25, and DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., started dating in 2022 until their breakup last year. The former couple share a 17-month-old son named Halo.

Bailey in documents requesting the restraining order claimed that she was worried about her safety and that of their son, The Associated Press reported. On Tuesday, a judge ultimately granted The Little Mermaid star the restraining order. DDG, who is a rapper and YouTuber, has been ordered not to establish any contact with Bailey and their son until a hearing on June 6.

Bailey claimed in the documents that throughout their relationship, Granberry, 27, “has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me.” She added: “I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”

Bailey also cited “multiple acts of physical violence” after they ended their relationship. She claimed that in January, while attempting to buckle their son to Granberry’s car seat, he called her a “b*tch” several times.

“The next thing I knew, things got physical between us,” Bailey continued. “We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain.”

Bailey attached photos of the said injuries in the documents. She also cited another March incident where Granberry gained access to her home while she had gone out. She said Granberry then took a photo of her bed and sent it to her via a text she described as threatening. She claimed Granberry in the text accused her of being intimate with other men, per The Associated Press

Bailey also claimed Granberry subsequently went on an angry rant against her a couple of days later, adding that the incident stemmed from the 27-year-old taking issue with her objection to allowing their sick son to visit him. She claimed that Granberry damaged her Ring camera after he realized the incident was being recorded. She further claimed that Granberry got hold of her phone and entered his car when she called a relative to get help. Bailey said Granberry banged the door on her while their baby was in her arms. She reported the incident to the police and filed a report.

Bailey additionally claimed she had been receiving threats and hate on social media as a result of Granberry “bad mouthing” her to his followers. She therefore petitioned the court to order Granberry to stop attacking her on his Twitch and YouTube platforms.

“Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad mouthing me to his several millions of fans,” Bailey claimed. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”

As a condition for the restraining order, Granberry is also prohibited from having weapons in his possession. The June 6 hearing can see the restraining order being extended to up to five years.
