Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey has come out to speak on the issue concerning her latest debacle with a nail salon operator.
HNHH reported that her boyfriend, famous rap artist DDG recently accused Perfect Nails of being racist because one of its employees allegedly kicked his girlfriend Halle Bailey out in the middle of a manicure. DDG urged his followers to post comments on the salon’s page after sharing the information on multiple social media sites.
He wrote, in a now-deleted tweet, “This place is racist towards black people. They kicked my girlfriend out while doing her nails. Please give them a 1 star. They don’t deserve business,” according to The Neighborhood Talk‘s Instagram post. He also added the link to the salon’s page in the tweet.
The nail salon immediately replied, saying the allegations were false, and explained that they were unable to offer Halle Bailey the services she needed as she and her sister were late.
They wrote, “We have proof that we were fully booked and we couldn’t accept a client who was late 35 minutes! We really don’t make different, all clients for us same. We respect all our clients! When Halle started her service, and it was already 20 minutes since her appointment started, we already informed her that we can’t take her sister! At the end her sister was late 35 minutes!”
However, Halle Bailey said online that there was some confusion about their appointment time. In a video posted by The ShadeRoom, Halle Bailey said she made it clear to the salon in advance that Chloe Bailey would be a bit late for the appointment, which the salon claimed was okay, while she was reserving the appointment at the nail salon for her and Chloe Bailey.
But when the actual appointment arrived, she said they weren’t okay with Chloe Bailey being late anymore. In Halle Bailey’s account, she left the salon with her sister when the salon refused to treat Chloe Bailey due to her lateness because of the salon’s alleged rude behavior in the end.
The salon owner also posted a video after she realized her Yelp scores kept getting lower and she kept receiving harsh messages from unknown people who called her “racist.” She added that she was scared because she was pregnant.
According to Sportskeeda, the rapper’s request reportedly impacted the salon’s ratings. The outlet noted that according to All Hip Hop, the salon previously had a 4.4-star rating and 49 reviews, but after the rapper’s tweet, it now has a 2.5-star rating and 115 reviews.
The comments section lit up, with some supporting the Hollywood star and others accusing her and her sister of entitlement.
Nevertheless, seeing how far this issue has blown up, Halle Bailey addressed the issue once again, saying, “Y’all it’s not that serious, I was just explaining my day on Snapchat and did not name any names… we went to another salon, and still got out nails done beautifully lol everyone be nice to everyone and calm down about some nails please.”
