A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has extended Megan Thee Stallion’s restraining order against imprisoned rapper Tory Lanez, barring any contact until January 9, 2030.

Judge Richard Bloom granted the protective order Thursday following Megan’s claims that Lanez has been orchestrating harassment from prison through third parties, according to AP’s report. Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan in the feet in 2020.

Lanez’s attorney, Michael Hayden, opposed the order, arguing that his client’s incarceration eliminates any threat to Megan and that there has been no recent direct contact between them. However, the court found sufficient evidence to extend the order, including call logs from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, which allegedly show Lanez coordinating attacks on Megan’s credibility online.

Megan initially obtained a temporary restraining order in November, claiming Lanez’s surrogates were spreading false claims about the case, including allegations that the gun and bullet fragments were missing.

In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and grossly negligent discharge of a firearm. Lanez’s appeal of the convictions is pending after a motion for a new trial was denied.

During the trial, Megan testified that Lanez fired at her feet while yelling for her to dance as she walked away from an SUV following a party at Kylie Jenner’s home.

Since the 2020 shooting, Megan, 29, has become one of hip-hop’s leading stars, earning a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2021 and topping charts with hits like “Savage” featuring Beyoncé and her collaboration with Cardi B on “WAP.”

Lanez, 32, gained prominence through mixtapes starting in 2009 and released several major-label albums, with his last two reaching the Billboard Top 10.

Hayden, Lanez’s attorney, is yet to make a comment on the extension of the restraining order.
