Ice Spice To Be Honored At Billboard Women In Music Award

After having a splendid 2023, Ice Spice, the rising star of rap, is set to receive her flowers.

She has been named the Hitmaker of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

The prestigious award recognizes the female artist who has had the most impact on the charts and the music industry in the previous year.

The 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards will take place on Wednesday, March 6 at YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, with Tracee Ellis Ross as the host. The last artist to receive the Hitmaker Award was Dolly Parton in 2020 .

Ice Spice’s dominance on rap scene

Ice Spice, who hails from New York, has been dominating the rap scene with her witty lyrics, catchy hooks, and fierce attitude.

She had four Top 10 hits in 2023, including as a featured artist on Taylor Swift’s Karma, the same role on Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2 with PinkPantheress, and her two songs with Nicki Minaj, Princess Diana nd Barbie World.

The latter two songs were part of her debut album, Ice Queen, which was released in 2023 and received critical acclaim and commercial success. The album showcased Ice Spice’s versatility, as she experimented with different genres, such as pop, dancehall, and R&B, while staying true to her rap roots.

Ice Spice is also known for her outspokenness and activism, as she has used her platform to raise awareness and support for various causes, such as racial justice, and mental health. She has also been vocal about the challenges and discrimination that women face in the male-dominated rap industry, and has advocated for more representation and recognition for female rappers.
