Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey

As Oprah Winfrey fans are rooting for her to contest in the 2020 presidential election, President Donald Trump believes he will beat the talk show host and media mogul if she stands.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah. Oprah would be a lot of fun … I know her very well. I like Oprah. I don’t think she’s going to run,” the unpopular president told reporters during a meeting with lawmakers at the White House on Tuesday.

Oprah has not made any comments about the speculation which was triggered after her moving speech at the recently held Golden Globe Awards. Her supporters think she will be the right person to turn things around in the country after Trump’s unpopular policies and risky decisions that have placed the United States in a bad light.

Other social commentators believe she will not do any different from Trump’s populist rhetorics and America will not be interested in another celebrity president.

Her friend and confidante Gayle King dismissed possibilities that Oprah Winfrey could change her mind after CNN reported that two of her close friends said she is thinking about running in 2020.
