She is famously known as MC Carol, a singer and songwriter raised in Morro do Preventório in Nitéroi whose funk music has feminist and anti-racist themes.
After the death of Franco, she announced that she would compete for state representative for the Communist Party of Brazil (PC do B). She had earlier this year been a victim of domestic violence.
