Acclaimed soul singer/songwriter Ayo will cap a week of exciting performances in NYC celebrating the release of her new album this week, ‘BILLIE-EVE’ (MBM Records), with a special ceremony in her honor hosted by BUILDING YOUNG MINDS (buildingyoungminds.org) in Harlem on Thursday March 22.
Congressman Charlie Rengal's Office will host a proclamation presentation at The Schomburg Center at 11:00am presented by Executive Director of BYM Jonathan Escoffery. BUILDING YOUNG MINDS (BYM), a NYC based nonprofit organization is dedicated to the development of future global citizens by providing entrepreneurial and community service projects, mentoring and access to an education that will create community, sustainability, accountability and empowerment.
Following the ceremony Ayo will be taken on a tour of the Schomburg Center and the Harlem Village Academy School, where many students are empowered by the great work that BYM does every year, as well as a tour of the Apollo Theater.
