Poem: The Day the Earth Stood Still

Jesus

Jesus

The day the earth stood still…the reality of his birth has changed the lives of millions all over the world, including mine. It’s not a myth or a folktale. It’s the way, it’s the truth, and it’s life.

And the host of angels couldn’t hold their chill…
Behold a child is born…
With a horn exalted like that of a unicorn…
The day the word became flesh…
Raising up plains and mountains shall he thresh…
The first begotten of the Father…
Embedded with coheirs he’s not ashamed to call brothers…
Inside that child lies a permanent solution…
Existing with dual personas: a lamb and a lion…
The miracle of his birth would be celebrated for eternity…
How that a virgin would receive the burden of maternity…
The seemly foolishness of the Father outweighed the wisdom of the wise…
Using the ark enemy as a tool, conquering death and leaving him surprised…
That day the scroll and seals were revealed…
He would bear our burdens and diseases he’ll heal…
The fullness of the Godhead born of a man and grew…
That whosoever believes in him, old things shall become new…
That’s the day the earth stood still.
