Kendrick Perkins has rendered an apology to Nicki Minaj after he said she isn’t on the level of Beyoncé or Taylor Swift when he spoke on Jimmy Butler’s Golden State move.

The Former NBA star expressed how the Warriors’ trade for Butler came as a shock to him and said he had his doubts about the effectiveness of the transfer.

Perkins revealed he was expecting the Warriors to make a big move by getting a high-caliber player rather than settling for Butler and used Beyonce, Swift, and Minaj as his examples.

“I was looking for the Warriors. I’m thinking they’re going to go out there and get a Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, but they ended up getting Nicki Minaj,” Perkins said.

His NBA crew were stunned with his comments and Nicki’s dedicated fan base ‘The Barbz’ hit back on social media, leaving him to quickly apologize for his remarks.

“Wish I would’ve known about the Barbz before my Nicki Minaj take… don’t charge it to my heart,” Perkins tweeted. “My apologies, I don’t want no smoke!”

Kendrick Perkins stated that he was sorry during a broadcast of NBA Today, stating: “Let me apologize to Nicki Minaj and the Barbz. They been on my ass like pockets. I apologize, I’m a fan. Please forgive me.”

On Thursday, Jimmy Butler was traded to the Warriors and reportedly agreed to a two-year, $121 million extension with the side until the 2026-2027 season.

Butler responded to the noise surrounding his trade on X and looked focused on the task despite the talk and criticism about the trade.
