[How To] know you are addicted to social media

‘No internet’ is terrifying

Social media addicts think hell should break loose when they do not have access to the internet. No internet means they can’t scroll through these social media platforms to check out what is going on their timelines or that of their friends and relatives. In effect, social media addicts are always spending big on data or looking out for places that offer free Wifi.

Imaginary notifications

It’s fun to get notifications when you are obsessed with social media, but when you start to imagine hearing those notifications, then there is a serious problem. Known as the phantom vibration syndrome, many of us tend to think that our mobile phone is ringing or vibrating when actually it’s not. And for social media addicts, experiencing an imaginary phone vibration causes them to desperately check their phones for a notification that never came. This is no joke. When you find yourself in this situation, seek help.
