Lean Startup Machine Business Workshops Coming to Accra

by Meghan Reid, 11:19pm May 12, 2014,

flyerWhat is Lean Startup Machine (LSM)?

LSM is a globally renowned workshop on starting a successful business. Unlike a hackathon, entrepreneurs spend three days “getting out of the building” to talk to customers and validate their business ideas. The majority of participants end up pivoting their idea several times until it becomes viable. Some teams are able to generate hundreds or thousands of dollars in revenue by the end of the event.  The experience is enriched with learned speakers, mentorship and training.

LSM in Africa

This year is a big year for Africa! Workshops are being organized for Accra, Lagos, Capetown, Harare, Cairo and Lesotho. I’m proud to say that Accra was the first city in Africa to be “unlocked,” that is to, say show the required demand (over 200 email address signatures) to host a workshop!

Who is behind this?

Rachael Tachie-Menson is the lead organizer for the LSM Accra. Having participated in the event in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, she ventured to bring the event to Accra with a campaign on social media. After 200 email signatures and some hard work, Accra LSM is here. She, along with her team, Maria Tachie-Menson, Elorm Adjaho, Kwame Adu-Appeah, Damata Kaleem and Yaw Boakye, will be hosting the first of it’s kind in Accra.

What are the details of the event?

LSM Accra is taking place on May 16-18, 2014 from 6pm-7pm at the Ghana Angel Investor Network, Premier Towers, 12th Floor, Liberia Road, Accra, Ghana.

How can I participate?
