Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders came under the spotlight before and during the 2025 NFL Draft. Shedeur, whose father is Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was projected to be a first round pick, but things took a downhill turn when he was snubbed, resulting in the spread of conspiracy theories.

And though Shedeur was ultimately drafted by the Browns in the fifth round, it appears the 23-year-old remains under scrutiny after a recent social media post claimed that he had splurged cash on a luxury vehicle.

Per Sports Illustrated, a post about Shedeur buying a $500,000 Rolls-Royce was shared a week after he signed a four-year rookie contract valued at $4.6 million. The video of the luxury vehicle was shared by Shedeur’s brother Deion Jr. when it was delivered at their Texas family home. In the video, the brothers are also heard talking about the car.

But several people suggested Shedeur had bought the car as a personal present after being drafted by the Browns. “Inspirational: Browns star rookie QB Shedeur Sanders bought himself a custom Rolls-Royce worth over $500K,” an X user wrote alongside a video of the luxury car.

“Despite being drafted in the 5th round, Sanders had performed phenomenally thus far in Cleveland. A much-deserved gift to himself.”

But the 23-year-old took to social media on Monday to debunk those rumors. “Another lie…. I’m focused on my team not a car purchase!” Shedeur quoted on the post. Shedeur’s father Deion similarly responded to that claim in a different post on X. “LIES!” he wrote

Several users on X commented on Shedeur’s post, with some expressing their support for the rookie. “Some people thrive on negativity and will do anything to bring you down. But the city and fans are behind you, and I can’t wait to watch you silence the doubters with your play on the field. Keep working hard—God has a big plan for you,” a user wrote. “Go Browns!”

Another user wrote: “I do hope you cook bro… head down, stay humble, and shut them down from the field..”
