In the course of his appearance on an episode of Drink Champs this year, actor and musician, Ludacris gave quite an evocative story about an encounter with Justin Timberlake at the Grammys.

It came back in 2007 when he finally broke through and took home the award for Best Rap Album for his record Release Therapy.

The part of the story everyone seems to agree on is that he was loudly and excitedly celebrating backstage, as you’d expect after such a big win.

When he originally told the story he claimed that a most spiteful-sounding Timberlake criticized him for being so loud when other people didn’t win any Grammys.

Ludacris is however walking back on that claim, and his fans realized this when he recently appeared on Hot Ones with Sean Evans to answer some questions and eat some hot wings.

The Justin Timberlake story came up during their conversation and Luda had to clarify some things.

“The internet went a little crazy with it. He definitely meant it, but it was no cursing out. He was behind the curtain and I was celebrating so openly and I was so loud. I think it was said more in fun, but there was definitely some truth behind it. Like, ‘OK, show’s not over. Stop celebrating so openly, I haven’t won any yet.’ With a smile on his face type of thing,” the rapper explained.

Justin Timberlake is fresh off the release of his first new album since his much-maligned 2018 release Man Of The Woods.

His new record, Everything I Thought It Was, served up nearly 80 minutes of new music from the pop star. It was led off by the hit single, “Selfish”, which peaked in the high 20s on the Hot 100 and has hovered in the top 50 ever since.
