Michael Jordan continues to struggle with selling his Chicago mansion, which has been on the market since 2012. Originally listed at $29 million, the price has now dropped to $14.855 million.

A viral TikTok video by @decayingmidwest has drawn attention to the property, showing it allegedly in disrepair, as reported by the New York Post. The footage shows the indoor basketball court, featuring a Bulls logo, apparently flooded.

The kitchen appears abandoned mid-renovation, with cupboard doors on the ground and debris scattered throughout the space. Jordan’s Chicago mansion remains largely empty, with scattered furniture hinting at years of neglect and no apparent tenants.

His struggle to sell the property has been ongoing, with the initial $29 million asking price reduced to $16 million in 2013. It’s now listed at $14.855 million, a figure symbolically tied to his iconic jersey number, 23.

Despite this, the mansion has sat unsold at that price for the past nine years. Despite its challenges on the market, the mansion boasts several attractive features. The property includes a large infinity-edge pool with an island, multiple lounges with large flatscreen TVs, built-in bars, a spacious patio, and a card and cigar room.

Interest in the home briefly surged following the release of the 2020 documentary ‘The Last Dance’.

“I’m not sure if it’s because of the TV programs that they did (the 2020 “The Last Dance” documentary miniseries on Netflix) or if it’s because people have an interest in looking at it a little bit differently, but suddenly there does appear to be a bit of interest in it,” Katherine Malkin of Compass told The Chicago Tribune in 2022.

In 2023, an 18-year-old was apprehended for attempting to break into the mansion.

Despite this and the viral attention being given to its condition, Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto, appear unfazed. The couple have been enjoying their summer yachting around Europe.
