Olympic icon Simone Biles seemed to be in a jubilant mood after her husband and NFL player Jonathan Owens signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears. Owens’ big free agency move will see him switch from Green Bay, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois.
Despite Biles’ focus on preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics, she expressed delight over Owens’ move from Green Bay to Chicago. She further hinted that she may not be making the permanent move alongside him in her tweet saying “CHICAGO HERE HE COMES.”
“I’m so excited about not having a connecting flight to go and see my husband hahahaha,” she wrote.
For now, it seems that Biles will remain in Texas as she focuses on preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games while she and her partner work on constructing their dream home.
In a fourth post, she wrote “also I just love the city of Chicago'” before adding “pizza & hotdogs. F YEAH” in another.
Finishing her posts with a final message, Biles noted: “So incredibly proud of my husband. The grind never stops! This is just the beginning.”
Owens also took to his X page to comment on his two-year move, reportedly valued at $4.5 million: “Appreciate it @Packers for the opportunity,” he wrote with a prayer hands emoji. “And Packer nation for welcoming me and my wife with open arms, will never forget my time in GB.”
Biles and Owens met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020, when Biles was already a celebrated four-time Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics. They got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot last April. However, Owens faced criticism late last year after confessing he was unaware of Biles’ fame before their relationship.
Despite his initial lack of awareness, Owens familiarized himself with Biles’ impressive gymnastics career and balanced the scale to catch up with the colossus he is married to.
Sources suggest that Owens played a significant role in encouraging Biles’ return to gymnastics. It remains uncertain whether Biles was aware of Owens’ identity when they connected on Raya.
The couple reside in a $2 million home in the Houston area, while also in the process of constructing a new mansion.
