Every married couple almost always has one funny thing they argue about or disagree on. For Michelle and Barack Obama, it’s about their thermostat and getting the right room temperature before going to bed.
During a Tuesday appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, Michelle touched on her rituals before going to bed, explaining that it usually includes setting the correct temperature in their bedroom, PEOPLE reported.
“The change in temperature is wild for any woman anytime, especially in this battle with a partner, right?” the former first lady told Poehler. “Because [Barack is] always cold.”
“And I’m like, ‘Do not touch.’ And sometimes I wake up hot, and I’ll wake him, [and say], ‘Did you touch the thermostat? You touched the thermostat, didn’t you?'” Michelle, 61, said on a light-hearted note. “He’s like, ‘I didn’t, I swear to God!'”

It, however, appears Michelle now sleeps without any hesitation as she said her husband Barack is currently “afraid of the thermostat.” “I said, ‘I don’t care what you do, do not touch anything in this room after I go to sleep,'” she jokingly said.
Michelle in their conversation also touched on being a sexagenarian and the health challenges that have come with reaching that age. The 61-year-old revealed she has a “frozen shoulder.” Per the Cleveland Clinic, a frozen shoulder is a “condition involving pain and stiffness in your shoulder joint.”
“I had frozen shoulder a couple years ago,” the former first lady said. “And guess what? Nobody knows what causes it, and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Poehler, 53, jokingly responded. “Like every ailment for women in their 50s.”
“They’re like, ‘Yeah. I guess it just hurts,'” Poehler added. “And it’s like, how long is it gonna hurt? And they’re like, ‘I guess forever maybe?'”
