As Valentine’s Day approaches, many people are already looking for fun and romantic things to do or buy.

Whether you’re single, couple or somewhere in between, you can draw inspiration from the newly discovered rare handwritten love note by Martin Luther King Jr.

The love note, a unique piece of history, has been put up for sale for $42,000. Handwritten and signed by hand by Martin Luther King Jr., the note describes the meaning of love.

Thought to be written sometime in the mid-1960s by the civil rights icon to one of his admirers, who had asked him to define the meaning of love.

“Love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the heartbeat of the moral cosmos. He who loves is a participant in the being of God,” King wrote.

The note is up for sale through the memorabilia company Moments in Time.

According to Gary Zimet, CEO of Moments in Time, the price reflects just how rare it is to find a handwritten note by the renowned civil rights leader.

“It is extremely rare. Other than inscriptions in typed letters and books, finding a handwritten note is very rare. This note encapsulates the philosophy of King’s life and that’s why it’s so important,” Zimet said.

The note, according to TMZ, was acquired from a memorabilia dealer in England who seemingly didn’t have a clue as to what he had in his possession.
