Panla presents “A Taste of Africa Event Series” on Thursday November 15 at Taj Lounge.

 A Taste of Africa brings together  foodies, tastemakers, cultured and outgoing professionals in a comfortable venue to partake in an evening of entertainment, food, networking,fashion and philanthropy.

Serving as your passport to an African experience in New York City, attendees will sample various  traditional food from various parts of Africa with Our DJs spinning all night WorldAfrican music hits and classics from Afrobeat, Azonto, Afro-Soul, Highlife, Makossa and more.

Participating restaurants/vendors include Panla (catering food from various parts of Africa including West Africa) Queen of Sheba (Ethiopian Restaurant), Madiba ( South African Inspired Cuisine), Le Souk Harem (Moroccan/Mediterranean cuisine), New York's own Cake Man Raven (best red velvet cake you ever had).

In addition to food this installment of A Taste of Africa will feature performances by No Small Money (playing some classic high life tunes) and Perfecta Ekpo and a duet by Kaleta of Zozo Afrobeats and Onyinye .

We also will be bringing some of the best fashion from Africa as our models/hosts and hostesses will be featured in various celebrated African designers clothing as they interact with our guest. Our host will present some of Africa's fashion at its best and they will inspire you and stimulate your senses with beautiful attires from various reputable African designers.

A Taste of Africa takes place on Thursday, November 15 at Taj Lounge located at 48 West 21st St between 5th & 6th Avenues. The event will be from 6pm to 12am.  Admission is $20 with complimentary African Inspired tasty finger food. Buffet style dinner will be available for an additional $10 with over 20 food items.

A portion of the proceeds for this installment of A Taste of Africa will benefit The Southern Sudan Initiatives.

We would also be honoring Carrie Sackett for her exemplary work at the Boys and Girls Town of Italy
