New York Police has revealed that a mother and her two children tragically died on Monday night after they jumped over Niagara Falls.
33-year-old Chaianti Means, Roman Rossman, nine, and five-month-old Mecca Means walked over the guardrail at Luna Island and fell to their tragic deaths.
According to Syracuse.com, the bodies of the victims are however yet to be recovered.
Officials stated that the plunge was deliberate, but further insisted that the ‘circumstances remain under investigation.’
Between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls is Luna Island, along with the Horseshoe Falls, which form the popular tourist draw.
The family resided in Niagara Falls, and reports indicate that authorities are using unmanned aircraft and underwater units to investigate how the incident unfolded.
According to Means’ LinkedIn profile, her job was that of a domestic violence counselor, and many of her friends have taken to social media on Facebook to pay their tributes to the mother and two kids who died after their tragic fall.
‘You cannot tell and you really never know what anybody is going through….RIP, said a friend Niesha Eukeya.
‘I can’t even bare to write a post about her and share memories,’ another named Mich Molina wrote.
‘I am literally sick to my stomach and I cannot even deal with the emotions I am feeling. Just know her and her children are dearly loved by me and my children.’
