Mokgadi Caster Semenya is the 26-year-old 2016 Olympic gold medalist and middle-distance runner. She’s caused an uproar in the sports realm due to the speculation of her gender. Semenya has abnormally high levels of testosterone, the hormone more prominent in men.
Semenya considers herself a female as do her parents; she married Violet Raseboya in 2017. Although Semenya doesn’t indulge in questions about her sexual orientation or love life, she is paving the way for many by continuing to live her life on her own terms without the need to justify her choices.
