Tupac
Born Lesane Parish Crooks in Harlem, New York, he later adopted the moniker Tupac, often stylized as 2Pac.
The rapper and actor is still regarded as one of the most prolific rappers of all time.
Beginning as a backup dancer and rapper for the group Digital Underground, Tupac eventually branched out as a solo artist.
Known for kicking knowledge about the plight of blacks in the United States and being philosophical when he chose to be, Tupac was equally synonymous with being at the forefront of the infamous “east-coast, west-coast” rap beef. He also had public feuds with many high-profile hip-hop figures such as Notorious BIG, Nas and P-diddy, previously referred to as Puffy Daddy.
Tupac died after being shot multiple times in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 1996. His murderer has never been found. His death is attributed to his controversial lifestyle and disputes with other prominent hip-hop figures.
