Desiigner, the rapper of the Panda song fame, has been ordered to register as a sex offender after a judge sentenced him for masturbating on a plane in April. Besides having to register as a sex offender, court documents stated that the 26-year-old was also sentenced to 2 years of probation and ordered to take part in psychiatric evaluation and drug testing, per TMZ.
The rapper has also been banned from owning or possessing firearms and ordered to perform 120 hours of community service. He was additionally hit with a $5,000 fine, XXL reported.
Desiigner’s sentencing comes after he entered a guilty plea for indecent exposure after he brought out his manhood and pleasured himself during a flight from Japan to the United States. The rapper is said to have masturbated in the full glare of flight attendants.
During the act, he was repeatedly told to stop but he continued to behave weirdly. He was ultimately taken to the back of the plane where two individuals kept an eye on him. The rapper also reportedly had a jar of Vaseline in his possession, and he dropped it as he was being moved, XXL reported.
Previous charging documents also stated that Desiigner told the federal agents who arrested him that he did not get enough “cootie” abroad, per TMZ. In the wake of the incident, the rapper released a statement announcing he was going to check himself into a mental health facility.
“For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on,” the rapper shared on his Instagram stories. “While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly.”
Desiigner stated that he was ultimately given medication before he boarded the flight back home. “I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane,” he stated. “I landed back to the states, and am admitting myself in a facility to help me.”
The rapper also said he’ll be canceling all of his shows and “any obligations until further notice.” “Mental health is real guys, please pray for me,” he added. “If your [sic] not feeling like yourself please get help.”
