Congo’s Kidiaba Teaches ‘Bouncing Bottom’ Celebration in Time for AFCON Match

With the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final approaching on Sunday, Wednesday’s match between the Ivory Coast and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is one to watch in order to see who will advance. And if Congo wins, DRC fans will likely be celebrating in goalkeeper Robert Kidiaba‘s (pictured) “bouncing bottom” style.

According to Kidiaba, he invented the “bouncing bottom” 20 years ago in order to maximize his abdominal workouts. As he began to consider how to create his own signature celebration for his team Leopard’s goals, he decided to make use of his energetic “bouncing bottom.”

In preparation for Wednesday’s competition, Kidiaba showed the BBC how to bounce one’s bottom.
