The Caribbean was a battle site of many European superpowers in history. It was also the destination of many Africans transported from Africa as slaves to work in the plantations and as domestic servants.

The battle sites, the entry points for slave ships as well as the locations of slave uprising have become markers of a long and traumatic history that the Caribbean countries are trying to recover from.

We bring you some of the vital sites and locations that come with rich legacies that have shaped the history of the inhabitants until today.
