Snoop Dogg is preparing to honor the memory of his late mother, Beverly Tate, with a new gospel album titled ‘Altar Call’.
More than just a dedication, the project serves as a testament to Snoop’s artistic range, showcasing his ability to evolve across genres while staying true to his roots.
Set for release under Death Row Records, ‘Altar Call’ is a 21-track offering that follows his 2018 gospel debut, Bible of Love. This latest body of work continues Snoop’s spiritual journey, drawing deeply from the lessons and legacy left by his mother.
“The spirit of my mother will forever live within me,” Snoop said in a statement. “This album is a reflection of what she has taught me — to use my voice and my platform to spread love and heal the world. Just another chapter out of the Bible of Love.”

Fittingly, ‘Altar Call’ is slated for release on April 27, a date that would have marked Beverly Tate’s birthday.

The album will feature a soulful cover of Bill Withers’ “Grandma’s Hands,” performed by Jamie Foxx, and includes appearances from an eclectic mix of collaborators such as Charlie Bereal, Jane Handcock, Jazze Pha, October London, Mali Music, Robert Glasper and the Death Row Mass Choir.
Described by Death Row Records as “a heartfelt testimony, a moment of reflection, faith, and community,” the album centers on themes of grace, healing, and spiritual connection. Its lead single, “Mother I Miss You” by gospel legend John P. Kee, is scheduled for release on Friday, April 18.
Snoop’s first foray into gospel music, Bible of Love, was dedicated to his grandmother, Dorothy Tate. With Altar Call, he builds on that foundation, seamlessly weaving his Hip-Hop background with messages rooted in faith, family and remembrance.
