Some bizarre African laws you did not know existed

Women signing contracts – Lesotho

Until 2006, it was illegal for any woman in Lesotho to get into a contract or legal obligation, as they were considered minors in the eye of the law.

The passing of the Marriage Act in 2006 repealed this provision, allowing women to get into contracts, register immovable property, become executioner of an estate, and act as a director of a company, among others.
