The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, put his knowledge to use after he offered medical aid to a passenger during a flight from the United States to the Caribbean nation.

According to the St. Vincent Times, Dr. Drew came to the elderly male patient’s aid after a flight attendant asked for the assistance of any passenger with medical knowledge. Reports stated that the passenger experienced a medical emergency and became unresponsive. He was eventually resuscitated.

Dr. Drew also suggested that the passenger be taken off the flight and transported to a medical facility for further treatment. The crew on the flight as well as the passengers and the patient’s family thanked him for offering to help.

“My life is one of service,” the Prime Minister said.

Dr. Drew, who became the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis in August, studied medicine in Cuba and the United States. The 45-year-old’s compatriots took to social media to shower him with praises after the news of his kind gesture was circulated, Loop Jamaica reported.
