Authorities in Tennessee have brought charges against a man and woman who allegedly assaulted a customer following a dispute over hair payment services. According to WMC, the January 7 incident occurred at the Millington Flats on 7289 Raleigh Millington Road. Police responded to the address after they received a report about an assault.

One of the suspects, identified as 23-year-old Jazmine Withers, was braiding the victim’s hair when they got into an altercation over payment for services. The altercation later became physical.

The male suspect, identified as Markell King, together with Withers, then blocked the victim from making her way out of the apartment, the affidavit stated. Police said Withers subsequently punched the victim in the head and used a pair of scissors to cut her braids.

Withers then told King, 23, to go get a pistol that was on the kitchen counter, police said, adding that the male suspect subsequently made his way to the kitchen to retrieve the weapon. The victim also informed police that she noticed King was in possession of a pistol that was equipped with a flashlight.

The victim said she ultimately defended herself as she feared her life was in danger and managed to leave the home, WMC reported. Police also said the responding officers retrieved the Glock pistol.

Withers has since been charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault while King is facing aggravated assault and false imprisonment charges.
